Examples of low cost community based adaptation projects

The document is a collection of case studies of low cost innovative adaptation projects by the Africa Climate change Resilience Alliance members (World Vision, Oxfam, CARE, & Save the Children) in Uganda. The projects were initiated to strengthen alliance members programming in climate change resilience, with key focus on approaches like conducting risk assessments, gender integration, use of weather and climate information, Support to Local government planning, innovation and creative practices, collaboration and strengthening country office strategies on climate change mainstreaming.

The Alliance members implemented pilot projects which included; biogas and energy efficient cook stoves, climate smart agriculture, Use of weather and climate information for agricultural planning, Village savings and loan associations as social mobilisation platforms for climate change adaptation etc.
