Our work with partners aims to:

  • Support initiatives that build the capacity of government systems to plan, manage and deliver services for the poorest.

  • Channel resources through government systems ensuring that services reach those in greatest need.

  • Build the capacity of institutions that will hold government to account, such as judiciary, parliament, human rights commissions and media.

  • Strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations to make sure that governments are responsive and accountable, and better equipped to meet the needs of their citizens.

LIFE-AR

The LDC Initiative for Effective Adaptation and Resilience (LIFE-AR) aims to develop an over-arching least developed countries (LDC) vision for adapting towards a climate resilient future by 2050. The vision will be LDC led and driven, driving forward climate action in line with LDC needs and priorities.

Least Developed Countries (LDC)

The LDCs are 47 nations that are particularly vulnerable to climate change but have done the least to cause the problem. Through the coordination of the LDC Group, they play a leadership role in the collective global efforts to prevent dangerous climate change.
