Irish Aid staff from country programmes and HQ, together with representatives of partner organisations and IIED facilitators met in Dar es Salaam for a regional Climate Change and Development Learning Platform workshop. The four day meeting looked at how climate can best be integrated in development programming. This involved taking stock of what Irish Aid is already doing on climate and what more could be done. A field visit was also undertaken to see how researchers and farmers are addressing climate adaptation. A series of outputs were generated including: better knowledge of climate integration issues, tools and methods that can be used by participants; plans for integration at country programme level; a set of case studies to inform the Learning Platform; and, agreed next steps.
