This policy brief is a summary of a longer background paper that highlights the linkages between gender equality and climate change and illustrates the lessons learned from Ireland’s international development cooperation programme, Irish Aid.
It aims to raise awareness of the urgency to better reflect gender and the role of women and girls in efforts to address climate change. It also seeks to guide decision-makers and practitioners in changing how they work at global and local levels to unlock the potential of women as agents of change, in the implementation of the Paris Agreement and achievement of the SDGs.
